Artist Statement

My work is about metamorphosis, about death and regeneration both on an individual and cultural basis. It’s about how we grieve and process change. That if something is lost or taken from you, it can either be used as a vehicle for transformation or in some cases can be taken back. My work is about the oscillating, spinning, mixing, nature of the sentient universe and everything that inhabits it. It’s about how we navigate that flux. It’s about flaying the skin of the conqueror, draping it around your shoulders and over the bones of an honest past. Not letting them take those bones from your body, and taking them back with a vengeance when they try. My work is about solidarity and a holy war. An apocalypse, a shift in the collective consciousness, and hope for a new-old age. Its about using medicine from within to heal yourself and your people.
